He is Director of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) Center for Faculty Development, Senior Editor for The Ohio State University Faculty Development for Medical Educators (FD4ME) online platform and Professor of Pediatrics in The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH. He practices as a pediatric nephrologist at NCH and OSU.

Maneesh Batra, MD MPH, is a former Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Christine Yu Moutier, Chief Medical Officer of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, knows the impact of suicide firsthand. After losing colleagues to suicide, she dedicated herself to fighting this leading cause of death. Dr. Moutier has served as UCSD professor of psychiatry, dean in the medical school, medical director of the VA Psychiatric Unit, and has been clinically active with diverse patient populations, such as veterans, Asian refugee populations, as well as physicians and academic leaders with mental health conditions. She has presented at the White House, testified before the U.S. Congress, and has appeared as an expert in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time magazine, The Economist, The Atlantic, the BBC, and CNN.

Dr. Jenny Reese, MD is the Children’s Hospital Colorado site lead for the STREAM (Sustaining and Training for Resilience, Engagement, and Meaning) Program and a Co-Investigator of the HRSA STREAM grant. She is the Section Head of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, University of Colorado School of Medicine, and also services as Associate Vice Chair for Faculty Well-being and Resilience for Department of Pediatrics and the Medical Director of Provider Well-being for Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Janet R. Serwint, MD is co-collaborator for the STREAM modules on mental health and served as the chair of the working group to create the AAP Resilience in the Face of Grief and Loss Curriculum. She is Professor Emerita of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and previously served as the pediatric residency program director and Vice Chair of Pediatric Education. Dr. Serwint continues as Associate Editor of the AAP journal Pediatrics in Review, In Brief and as the Co-Chair of the Johns Hopkins Academy Mentoring / Advising / Coaching Subcommittee.

Mollie Grow MD MPH is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and general pediatrician in the Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Washington. Dr. Grow is an Associate Program Director with the UW Pediatrics Residency Program. She is co-lead of the STREAM Seattle site and the Joy and Meaning pillar. Dr. Grow’s scholarship focuses on two areas: medical education research to support pediatric trainees and collaborative programs that promote child wellness and decrease child health disparities.

Richard Shugerman MD, is a co-PI of the STREAM (Sustaining and Training for Resilience, Engagement, and Meaning) HRSA grant. He is Vice Chair for Faculty Development and Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA. He practices pediatric emergency medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital and is a facilitator for the Center for Courage and Renewal through which he leads local retreats for residents and faculty in Seattle and nationally for the ACGME.

Suzanne Reed, MD is a co-investigator and session facilitator for the STREAM (Sustaining and Training for Resilience, Engagement, and Meaning) Program. She is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and Ohio State University. She is the site PI for NCH in the Pediatric Resident Burnout-Resilience Study Consortium. She is a practicing pediatric oncologist at NCH.

Joy Howell, M.D., is a diversity advisor/consultant for the STREAM project. She is the Assistant Dean for Diversity and Student Life , Vice Chair for Diversity in Pediatrics, Professor of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and a practicing pediatric intensivist at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. She formerly served as PCCM Fellowship Program Director from 2005-2020.

Alan Schwartz, PhD, serves as program evaluator for STREAM. He is the Michael Reese Endowed Professor of Medical Education and Interim Head of the Department of Medical Education, and Research Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as the Director of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Longitudinal Educational Assessment Research Network (APPD LEARN).

Larry Hurtubise, PhD, is an Instructional Development Consultant for the STREAM (Sustaining and Training for Resilience, Engagement, and Meaning) Program.He is a Curriculum and Instruction Consultant at the Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University and has a background in faculty development and instructional design in the health professions. His area of study is the professional identity formation of clinician educators.
